Member Spotlight: Stuart Wood '01 of Last Bottle Clothing
Some of us find fulfillment in a big namecorporation, while others struggle to find meaning in the same situation. The latter was the situation for Stuart Wood ’01, who spent 12 years after graduation helping the largest home improvement retailer successfully reinvent their business model. He loved the company and its culture, but always felt he should be pursuing a career where he would have deeper impact on Earth and its inhabitants.

Executive MGM Students Hosted by Founding TIAA Board Member Merle Hinrich '65
A group of Thunderbird online and Executive MGM students visited Hong Kong last week. Led by Thunderbird professor Lena Booth and administration member John Allen, the purpose of the visit was to broaden the student exposure to Asian business. And gain knowledge of the culturaland political environments, particularly in Hong Kong.
Several TIAA members and alumni in Hong Kong stepped forward to host them at their businesses, including TIAA Board Member Merle Hinrich ’65. On Thursday, Merle hosted the group of students for lunch with other alumni members of his business, Global Sources, including Brent Barnes ’99, Laura Siu ’10, Minesh Pore ’04, and, from the Hinrich Foundation, Will Counts ’09. Afterlunch,students were welcomed to the Global Sources offices by CEO Craig Pepples, and watched a presentation by VP ofCorporate Affairs,Camellia So.
