It's Foundations Time!

As happens in the blistering heat of every mid-August in Phoenix, a brand new group of students have started "T-bird boot camp," learning about the hidden nooks and legends of our quirky campus, and preparing eagerly for their first days of classes.
Festivities of course kicked off with the traditional flag ceremony, which maylook a bit different in the image captured by new TIAA Scholar Tyler Stringham than it did in 1957 (you can view the whole yearbook here!), but the Mystique is still alive and well!
Five New Scholars JoinRanks of T-Bird Students
After a full day of orientation activities and adjustment to the wild world of Thunderbird, our new Scholars were just getting started. After further introduction and orientation from TIAA Board Chairman Doug Deardorf '84, they were whisked off to dinner with CareerManagement Center Director Guy Groff, TIAA Volunteer Jenn Demoney, and Operations Manager JakeStickler '17.

Following that was a return to campus for a TIAA Pub Night with a fantastic turnout of local alums, Scholars old and new, and some other familiar faces gave them a warm welcome. See below for pictures of the fun!
